Lesaffre, a global leader in yeast and fermentation solutions, aimed to empower their Asia Pacific teams and distributors with client-centric mindsets and new collaborative ways of working.
Their objective: to gain a deeper understanding of their baking clients and generate innovative ways of collaborating and ideas to meet evolving team and customer needs.
Guided by the challenge statement, “How might we join forces to better understand our baking clients and spark fresh ideas to drive the future of baking?” Lesaffre partner with Doodle Design each year in transformative Design Thinking workshop programs designed to equip their teams with the mindsets, skillsets, and tools to collaborate and innovate effectively.
Doodle Design designed a hands-on, Design Thinking learning journey for Lesaffre, starting with a one-hour online kick-off session and culminating in a high-energy, half-day in-person workshop.
Kick-off Session:
Participants were introduced to Design Thinking principles and equipped with practical tools, including a ‘Client Template,’ to gather pre-work insights on local markets ways of collaborating and client needs.
Main Workshopping:
Teams were engaged and facilitated to ‘learn by doing’ using Design Thinking across the following steps:
- Discover: Teams explored client challenges and team collaboration from a human-centered perspective.
- Define: Together, they identified key opportunities for better collaboration and innovation.
- Ideate: Groups were facilitated to spark over 200 creative ideas and prioritized solutions tailored to the client and team needs.
- Share: Participants refined their ideas through feedback loops and prepared actionable plans to take forward and implement.
The Outcomes:
- Teams gained a richer understanding of their baking clients and team collaboration needs, uncovering pain points and opportunities for future growth, inspired by diverse regional perspectives.
- Cross-team collaboration fostered a culture of creativity, alignment, and client-centric innovation.
- Actionable ideas and frameworks emerged, ready to be implemented to drive results and to be repeated in solving other, future challenges.
Impact:
This Design Thinking-led program (now held on an annual basis) empowered Lesaffre’s teams to reimagine their approach to client engagement & collaboration, blending innovation and collaboration to align with their mission of driving the future of baking.
Through human-centered Design Thinking, Doodle Design helped Lesaffre strengthen client relationships, uncover opportunities, and elevate baking for their clients and teams across Asia Pacific.
