Reimagining Healthcare in Vietnam

With the intention of bringing together stakeholders from across the healthcare landscape, YCP Solidiance, Mekong Capital, and Doodle Design recently organized a design thinking workshop for ~40 healthcare industry leaders to address the question, “How might we improve access to quality care in Vietnam?”

To address four separate patient personas representing breast cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and infant vaccination, participants were placed into working groups comprised of a broad range of industry perspectives, covering providers, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, retail pharmacy, insurance, healthtech, NGOs, and policy.

Over the course of a morning, Chris Elkin facilitated, leading participants through a series of activities get us to innovate, collaborate, and co-create on how to expand access to quality care across the patient personas we were designing for.

Rose, Bud, Thorn, affinity clustering, creative matrix… and lots of post-it notes with ideas! 432 ideas to be exact, later prioritized to a handful for deeper consideration.

I would like to thank the attendees for their enthusiastic participation. I hope we created new connections and sparked new ways of approaching our work. We’ll continue to build on the results of this workshop. More to come, stay tuned…
